The Chalk Festival is not only going vertical, it has integrated to Longboat Key. Artist Kitty Dyble Thompson from Milwaukee, Wis. has participated in the chalk festival since it’s inception. She is currently on scaffolding spray painting a mermaid on a poolside wall at Longboat Key Club and Resort. In addition to the mermaid she is expected to finish this afternoon, she is creating an anamorphic reproduction a piece from the 1770’s by Henry Kettle. It will look like a blurred smear of color on the ground, but will look like a complete piece when viewed with a mirrored cylinder.
