+ License plate funds sea of grants
The Protect Our Reefs Grants Advisory Committee announced that 11 awards totaling $274,000 have been made for new coral reef research, conservation and education projects. The grants are funded through sales of Florida’s Protect Our Reefs license plate, administered by Mote Marine Laboratory.

The Protect Our Reefs Grants Program is currently in its sixth year and has provided $2.3 million in funding support for 94 projects.
