It's not something I generally like to brag about, but in my many years of procrastination, I've pretty much got last-minute holiday shopping down to a science. At the end of the day, people just want to feel good. So I've put together a list of the season’s best trends to save you from the embarrassing empty-handed Secret Santa exchange.

I always keep in my what my mother used to tell me: “When in doubt, get them something you like, too.” Well, I LOVE makeup. I do. I just love it. If it were up to me, I'd spend all my money on shadows and lipstick, but I highly doubt my roommate would approve come rent time.

Luckily there's quite a bit of great quality makeup you can find at your local drug store that won't break the bank. This season, my Must-Have Makeup List consists mostly of lip goodies like my Revlon Super Lustrous Lipstick in Matte called "Wine Not." Matte's where it's at this season, and "Wine Not" is the perfect alternative to the naturally wine-stained lip.

If you're giving a lip color as a present, why not do double duty with my favorite lip scrub from Lush Fresh Handmade Cosmetics, aptly named "Santa's Lip Scrub?" Its main ingredients consist of yummy cherries and dates, which give both flavor and a bit of color. My favorite part? No water needed; simply rub a pea-sized dab onto your lips and lick off the delicious excess!

I have an awful habit of enjoying a glass (or three) of wine before I decide my nails need a bit of color, so by the next morning, it looks like a toddler dipped my hands in finger paint. Something that I would REALLY enjoy receiving would be a lifetime supply of my new handy friends: stick-on nail polish.

Jamberry Nail Wraps have great pre-made designs, or you can get a little frisky and upload a photo of your cat to get cat nail wraps. They're completely customizable and are activated by heat, so use your blow dryer to heat 'em up, stick 'em on and peel 'em off when you’re ready for a change.
