LECOM dental school earns accreditation

Officials from Lake Erie College of Medicine’s Bradenton campus on Thursday announced the school has received its initial accreditation from the Commission on Dental Accreditation.

The approval will allow LECOM to keep on track to open the $52 million facility in 2012.

LECOM officials formally unveiled plans for the new dental school on Jan. 2, about two months after announcing a similar dental school would be built at its Erie, Pa., campus.

Lake Erie College of Medicine is located at 5000 Lakewood Ranch Blvd.
