The Lazy Lobster is on track to open Monday, Oct. 19, in Café on the Bay’s former location in the Centre Shops. The restaurant is owned by Michael Garey, former manager of Café L’Europe who has worked for Southern Wine & Spirits for the past five years, and Bob Fracalossy, former chef at Café L’Europe and Café on the Bay, who bought The Lazy Lobster at 7602 N. Lockwood Ridge Road, Sarasota, two years ago. The Lockwood Ridge location will remain open. According to Fracalossy, the restaurant has many customers who drive from Longboat Key to the Lockwood Ridge Road location.

The restaurant is casual and will open at 4 p.m. daily. Lunch will be served seasonally, beginning in December. The menu features eight lobster dishes, along with a kids’ menu and early menu. From 4 to 5:30 p.m., the Lazy Lobster will serve two-for-one house wines and cocktails.

Most non-lobster entrées are priced between $13.95 and $18.95.

“Our niche is local food with neighborhood prices,” Fracalossy said.
