Lakewood Ranch Town Hall’s operations staff will soon have company in its new maintenance facility.

Lakewood Ranch Community Development District supervisors authorized an inter-local agreement today for its landscaping contractor, Down to Earth, to rent space at the $2 million facility — representing a new revenue source for the districts.

The lease calls for Down to Earth to pay $1,079 rent every month, plus utilities and common area maintenance expenses, to generate $1,500 per month in revenue.

Down to Earth will use about a half-acre of the property — or 15% — to house a construction trailer for storing equipment. Personnel will also work out of the trailer.

Lease revenue will be distributed to districts based on the size and number of residential units within each district.

The contract runs through September 2016.

A ribbon-cutting ceremony Jan. 9 officially signaled the opening of the maintenance facility, located near the Lakewood Ranch Post Office and Premier Sports Campus.
