Lakewood Ranch named top-selling community

Lakewood Ranch has been named a top-selling master-planned community for the third consecutive year.

Lakewood Ranch developer Schroeder-Manatee Ranch today announced California-based John Burns Real Estate Consulting and Maryland-based RCLCO have ranked Lakewood Ranch in the top 10 master-planned communities nationwide. Both organizations ranked Lakewood Ranch No. 9 in surveys.

In 2013, Lakewood Ranch visitor centers and model homes saw more than 31,000 visitors and the community saw construction start on 618 new home sales, up from 573 in 2012.

SMR officials attribute the increase to the opening of Lennar's Bridgewater project, among other factors.
