The Manatee County School District’s Citizens’ Advisory Committee is conducting a series of meetings at schools to gather input about what the district’s budget priorities should be for 2014-15.

At each meeting, including one tonight, 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. at Lakewood Ranch High School, community members will be given a survey, both to address the 2014-15 budget and the district’s five-year strategic plan.

Each meeting will include food, homework help, tutoring and other activities.

The survey to be administered at the meetings can also be taken online at https://www.surveymonkey.com/s/Shaping_the_Future_Together.

The last meeting will occur Nov. 21 at Lincoln Middle School.

Also today, at its 5:45 p.m. meeting at 215 Manatee Avenue W., the Manatee County School Board will vote on whether to designate a 10-acre undeveloped parcel it owns at Braden River High School as surplus property it intends to sell.

An appraisal of the property, located at the northeast intersection of Caruso Road and State Road 70, is in process.

Money accrued from the sale would go to reserves.
