Development in East County leads the way for revenue growth on the property tax rolls, according to data released by the Manatee County Property Appraiser today.

Data shows market values in Manatee County increased by 8.31% compared with 2015, resulting in a taxable value of $30.5 billion, compared with $28.2 billion.

In East County, market values rose 11.62%, trailing only values in Bradenton Beach, which rose 12.03% over the previous year.

New construction countywide grew 17.67%. East County saw increases of 9.87% — or $398 million in taxable value.

“The market is still increasing, although the increase seems to be stabilizing,” said Mark Johns, director of appraisal services for the appraiser’s office. “The most new construction is in eastern Manatee. Nearly half of the new construction is in east Manatee.”
