The Lakewood Ranch High football team suffered its first loss of the season Sept. 6, falling to Tampa Jesuit 31-7.
Trailing 3-0, Lakewood quarterback Chad Rex connected with James Jeffcoat for an 85-yard touchdown with 9 minutes to play in the first half. It was the lone score of the night for Lakewood.
Lakewood returns to non-district action Sept. 13 at Bayshore.
