Lady Pirates defeat Lady Sailors

The Braden River High softball team defeated Sarasota 4-2 in non-district action Feb. 17.

Freshman Courtney Mirabella pitched seven innings, allowing two runs on five hits, including a double and a triple, while striking out nine and walking two.

Ashley Allard went 2-for-3 with two runs and an RBI and Nicole Tira went 2-for-3 with a pair of doubles and an RBI to lead the way for the Lady Pirates. Brooke Ribarich went 1-for-2 with a triple and a run scored and Lauren Powell went 1-for-3 with a double, an RBI and a run scored.

Braden River returns to action tomorrow night versus Lakewood Ranch.
