Lady Mustangs win Booker Invitational

The Lakewood Ranch High girls track team scored 100 points to win the Sarasota Booker Tornado Invitational March 12. ODA scored 17 points for ninth place and Braden River scored 10 points for 10th place.

The Lakewood Ranch High boys team tied with Manatee for fifth place followed by Braden River (12th place) and ODA (14th place).

Top individual performers include: Lakewood’s Leah Wierichs (100-meter hurdles), the girls 3,200 relay, Alice Assenza (300 hurdles), Olivia Ortiz (3,200) and the girls 1,600 relay.

Braden River’s Jillian Koenig finished third in the pole vault to lead the way for the Lady Pirates. Octavious Washington finished second in the 400 to lead the way for the Mustangs.
