Lady Mustangs dominate Canes Classic

Lakewood Ranch's Michelle Last, Ashley Platt, Olivia Ortiz, Devin McDermott and Kristin Zarrella all posted Top 5 finishes.

Lakewood Ranch High junior Olivia Ortiz finished first overall at the 19^th Annual Canes Classic 5K Sept. 5 at G.T. Bray Park.

Ortiz crossed the finish line in 18 minutes, 49.27 seconds to finish first in all ages in the female division. Fellow teammates Kristin Zarrella (19:13.43) and Devin McDermott (19:20.71) also placed in the top five, finishing second and third in the 16-19-year-old girls division.

Lakewood’s Ashley Platt (22:00.84) and Michelle Last (22:19.30) also placed fourth and fifth, respectively, in the 16-19-year-old girls division.
