Kidnapping attempted on Siesta Key

Sarasota Police responded to a report of an attempted kidnapping at 6:30 p.m. Monday, Sept. 5, at 6703 Midnight Pass Road.

The victim, whose name is withheld while the investigation is pending, was walking home when the suspect grabbed her from behind. The victim resisted, and the suspect fled from the area. Patrol and K-9 units were used to search for the suspect; however, he was not found.

The suspect is described as a white male, about 25 to 35, approximately 6 feet, 1 inch tall, with shaggy strawberry-blonde hair, pale complexion and is a cigarette smoker.
