Three simple truths: My life changes when I do. If I don’t apply structure to my time, someone or something else will. The only things I have control over are my own personal choices.

These are the principles Sara Hand uses to guide both her own life and the clients she councils in her business, Joy … Beyond Freedom. Her clients are professionals who seek balance in their lives, and Hand empowers them by showing that they have choices.

“You always get to choose where you’re at,” Hand said.

Hand began to consider her priorities in 2006, following a family tragedy. She was working as vice president of sales and marketing for a disaster-recovery company at the time. In 2007, she chose to establish Joy … Beyond Freedom.

Hand considers her business and her consulting work as a journey — and one of her next steps on that journey is to expand her Internet presence.
