Lakewood Ranch Jewish Club’s meeting Sunday night.

Among the questions posed by the nearly 100 members present at Lakewood Ranch Town Hall was one of Lakewood Ranch possibly incorporating and becoming its own city.

“Personally, I’m not too enthusiastic about incorporation,” Jensen said.

Jenson mentioned that he has tried to stay out of the issue and that Lakewood Ranch would only become its own city if residents convinced those at the state level in Tallahassee.

He referred to the 2011 straw poll, in which nearly 57 percent of Lakewood Ranch residents voted to not make the community a city.

If the citizens were to demonstrate a strong desire to incorporate, Jensen said he would support their choice.

Jensen also presented a plan to construct a bridge over Interstate 75 to connect Lakewood Ranch to Cattlemen Road to help alleviate already existing traffic issues that are only expected to increase when the University Town Center mall opens.
