On Dec. 3, INFINITY Longboat Key at 4765 Gulf of Mexico Drive held its groundbreaking.

There will be 11 units at the residence that range from 3,300 to 5,500 square feet. The residence will cost $2,975,000 to $4,950,000 million, and five have already been sold.

The planning stages for INFINITY began nearly two years ago and are expected to be completed in 12 to 14 months.

“What we have learned is there’s a real interest in privacy and a big size similar to private residence,” developer Randy Moore said. “They also want to get away from the headache of maintenance. This gives them both.”

The amenities at the condos will include a beachside pool, tennis courts, a clubhouse and a fitness center. Each residence includes sliding 12 to 16-foot sliding glass doors and glass balconies, which provide views of the both the Gulf of Mexico and the Sarasota Bay.

“We have Longboat sand in our shoes, and we care desperately of what’s built here,” real estate agent Michael Saunders said. “Infinity is the quality of being infinite. This is what people want.”
