Venice proved to be too much for the Braden River High volleyball team Sept. 1 as the Lady Pirates fell to the Indians in three straight sets.

The Indians showed their dominance on the court, defeating the Lady Pirates 25-9, 25-11 and 25-10.

"It was the first time Braden River has ever played a team of that caliber, but it will not be the last," coach Steven Haugh said. "Our goal is to win the first volleyball district title in Braden River history, and to do that we have to be prepared to play good teams."

Braden River falls to 2-1 on the season. The Lady Pirates will return to action Sept. 9 when they travel to St. Pete Lakewood for their district opener.
