Today, staff at Alfstad& Productions announced that they will not renew their lease on the gallery space in the Rosemary District. The art production and marketing company opened the art space last season where five contemporary art exhibitions took place.

"We signed the lease September 27, and November 15 was our first show with the Chalk Festival," Sam Alfstad, founder of Alfstad& Productions, says. "We were working pretty fast to get the IceHouse started and never had a chance to catch our breath."

The company will remain intact and hopes to produce future shows in Sarasota next season, but also hopes to move in a farther-reaching direction with shows hosted around the country. No official plans are in place, but Alfstad says he hopes to figure out how to do things the right way in the future.

"There were lots of mistakes, that were all mine," he syays. "We're planning on fixing them."
