Gryphons thwart Mustangs season

The Lakewood Ranch High boys basketball team saw its season come to an end with a 57-32 loss to Tampa Sickles in a Class 6A-Region 3 quarterfinal Feb. 16.

The Mustangs (9-20) were outscored 18-5 in the second quarter as the host Gryphons (22-6) took a 29-11 lead into the locker room at halftime.

Senior Brian Cobb, who along with Zach Ange, played his final game in a Mustang uniform finished with 13 points.
