Girls Incorporated of Sarasota County has launched a national search to replace Executive Director Robin Rose, as she plans to move to St. Augustine after two years in her position.

“We are so proud of what this organization has accomplished with Robin’s help and leadership over the past two years, and while we embark on the difficult process of finding someone to fill her shoes, we are grateful for her service and understand her decision to focus on her family,” said Girls Inc. board of directors Chairwoman Jennifer Compton in a news release. Rose is planning the move to be closer to her husband, Capt. Wayne Ziskal.

The organization has assembled a search committee led by board member Christopher Pinckney, which aims to choose a replacement by the Sept. 30 end of the non-profit’s fiscal year. The board is using the same process it used to find Rose, who had left her position as CEO of Tampa-based Frameworks Inc. to lead Girls Inc in 2003.

Rose plans to continue her duties and assist in the transition after the committee finds a replacement.

During her time with Girls Inc., Rose oversaw the retirement of all debt associated with the Nadel settlement, and the launch of the Code Initiative, the Champions for Girls giving circle and the High School Initiative, among other accomplishments.

"I am leaving with a sense of tremendous pride in what we have created together here, with everything now in line and on target to move forward strongly,” Rose said. "Even after my departure, I plan to stay very involved in the organization and hope to connect with many of you at future events and to stay in close contact with the many close friends I have made."
