With less than two months to go before completion, crews are now working on the top floor of the Palm Avenue parking garage.

Construction began April 1 and is scheduled to end before Christmas.

The sixth floor is now visible just above many of the buildings on Main Street and Pineapple Avenue.

Workers are forming and pouring the sixth and final parking level. They’re also forming the first-floor sidewalks and two staircases. Next week, they’ll be laying asphalt in the alleys and beginning preparations for landscaping and irrigation.

When complete, the garage will have about 740 parking spaces on its six levels and 12,000 square feet of retail space on the ground floor.

The project cost is $12.5 million.
