1. Heitler was Valedictorian at his high school (Abraham Lincoln High School in Brooklyn) in 1932

2. Heitler won a baby beauty contest when he was an infant

3. Heitler and his wife Florence will have been married 72 years come April.

4. Heitler thinks the secret to his longevity is singing, "It's the secret of life," he says.

5. Heitler was the Vice President of the Democratic Club of Longboat Key and currently serves on it's Board of Directors
