FISA team reviews rowing site

Representatives of an international rowing organization will visit Sarasota County Tuesday to see if the facilities at Nathan Benderson Park should be sued to host the 2017 World Rowing Championships.

International Federation of Rowing Association representatives will tour the site Tuesday morning; they also will inspect other related-sites, including the Fort Hamer Park rowing training facility in Manatee County.

Manatee and Sarasota county commissioners also will meet later that afternoon for a joint meeting to deliver FISA officials with a proclamation.

The joint meeting will be held at 1:15 p.m., at the Sarasota County Commission Chambers, 1660 Ringling Blvd., Sarasota.
