Firefighters from Southern Manatee Fire Rescue responded to an East County structure fire early this morning, keeping the flames from a home on the property.

A Southern Manatee Fire Rescue report states the first of three engines arrived at about 5:15 a.m. to a fire at 522 39th Ave. E., Bradenton, where two workshop sheds in the back of the home were ablaze.

“Every part of the structure was involved in the fire,” said Lt. Wayne Lambert, who was the acting battalion chief at the time. “The firefighters did a really good job. They got the fire out quickly and kept it (away from the house and trees).”

Lambert estimated damages at $35,000 to $40,000.

The fire was discovered by the property’s owner and his sons. No one was injured.
