Longboat Key Fire Rescue Chief Paul Dezzi promoted firefighter paramedic Jason Berzowski to the rank of fire lieutenant on June 7.

Berzowski has been with Longboat Key Fire Rescue for more than five years and previously worked for Orange County Fire Rescue. Berzowski has been instrumental in the training of new paramedics, working with the Emergency Medical Services (EMS) Operations Team on medical issues, and has worked on improving our EMS supply inventory/control.

Berzowski will be assigned to B-shift Station 91 (north fire station) under the supervision of Deputy Chief Matt Altman. He will assume the on-line EMS Training program for all department personnel.
