When The Mall at University Town Center opens Thursday, the Florida Highway Patrol will be ready.

The FHP will increase its presence on Interstate 75 near University Parkway for the mall's opening weekend, through Oct. 19.

"It is anticipated that there will be increased traffic volume during this period, so all motorists are encouraged to drive safely and distracted free," said FHP spokesman Lt. Greg Bueno.

Troopers will focus their enforcement on impaired driving, speeding, following too closely and other aggressive driving behaviors.
