FDOT holds public meeting for interchange improvements

Plans for the intersection of State Road 64/Interstate 75 will be on display tonight.

State transportation officials be on hand tonight to answer questions about future improvements to the intersection of Interstate 75 and State Road 64.

The information workshop will run from 5 to 7 p.m. April 14, at The Source Church, 5412 east SR 64, Bradenton, FL 34208.  FDOT will have information on the project on display and have representative to discuss the project with the public.

The project consists of  preparing design plans to reconstruct the existing I-75/SR 64 partial cloverleaf interchange  from the existing six 12-foot travel lanes (three in each direction) to provide for a diamond configuration interchange, and to provide for a future 10-lane roadway along I-75 in this area. 

The design plans for the interchange improvements will also require modifications to the existing I-75/SR 64 bridges, the replacement of the existing I-75/SR 64 entrance and exit ramps, and the widening of SR 64 from east of 64th Street Court E. to west of Grand Harbour Parkway. The project is funded for construction in FY 2016/2017.
