East County preps for Kentucky Derby

East County residents will head to the races this weekend.

Several organizations will host events to watch the Kentucky Derby May 3, including:

• The Family Network on Disabilities of Manatee/Sarsota — will host its Kentucky Derby Fundraiser from 4 to 7 p.m., at the Sarasota Polo Club, 8201 Polo Club Lane, Sarasota. For information and costs, visit fndmanasota.org.

• Sarasota Manatee Association for Riding Therapy — will host its Derby Day Fundraiser starting at 4:30 p.m., at SMART, 4640 County Road 675, Bradenton. For information and costs, visit smartriders.org.

• Sarasota Singles Society — will host its Ketucky Derby Party starting at 5 p.m. at the University Park Country Club's The Varsity Club, 7671 Park Blvd., Sarasota. Registration is required at sarasotasinglessociety.com.
