Ghouls and goblins: East County has more than a few candy-filled festivals and events Oct. 31 for your trick-or-treating pleasure.
Below, the East County Observer lists a few of the area's not-so-spooky alternatives to traditional Halloween celebrations.
Fall Festival — runs from 6:30 to 9 p.m. at Woodland Community Church, 9607 E. State Road 70, Bradenton. This family-friendly event will features games, food and other activities.
Night of Light Fall Farm Fest — runs from 6 to 8:30 p.m. at The Tabernacle Church, 4141 DeSoto Road, Sarasota. This event features games, a mechanical bull, food a petting zoo, crafts and other activities as an alternate to traditional Halloween festivities.
Trick of Tree-t — runs from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. Oct. 31 through Nov. 2, at TreeUmph!, 21703 Manatee Ave. E., Bradenton. The adventure course will offer a 31% discount on admission prices if individuals wear a costume and bring on non-perishable food item for Meals on Wheels food drive. No loose or hanging clothing or accessories that could get caught in harnesses and lines.
