East County kids perform with All-State Chorus

Students from Bashaw and Braden River elementary schools performed in the Elementary All-State Chorus Concert Jan. 8 in Tampa during the Florida Music Educators Conference.

Bashaw Elementary music teacher Barbara Sullivan and Braden River Elementary music teacher David Katz traveled with their students for the special occasion. Student performers were Merritt Kendzior and Halley Hubbard of Bashaw and Shannon Smith of Braden River.

Manatee County Public Schools Superintendent Tim McGonegal and School Board member Harry Kinnan made sure to attend the performance.
