East County High 5 Moments: 05.19.16

1 — Lakewood Ranch junior forward LaDazhia Williams was named to the Florida Association of Basketball Coaches/Source Hoops Class 7A first team all-state girls basketball team. 

2 — Braden River senior first baseman Bethaney Keen was chosen to represent the West in the Florida High School Coaches Association 27th All-Star Softball Classic May 20-21, at Forest High. 

3 — Derrian Gobourne, a Level 10 gymnast at Lakewood Ranch Gymnastics, was selected to the Region 8 All-Star team that will travel in July to New York. Gobourne finished fifth in the all-around at the Junior Olympic National Championships May 6-8, in Fort Worth, Texas. 

4 — ODA shooting guard Nate Patrick scored a career-high 39 points for the Liberty Edge 17U boys basketball team in the final game of the Big Shots Tournament May 8, in Sarasota.  

5 — Don Betts used his 7-iron to record an ace May 9 on the 160-yard, No. 9 hole on the Champions Course at Palm Aire Country Club.
