East County dad Marc Rosenthal and his children Dillon, 8, and Tayla, 11, rapped their way to top honors at Temple Emanu-El’s “Temple’s Got Talent” event Feb. 18.

The Rosenthals captured the “Judges’ Choice” trophy and prize with an original “Rabbi’s Rap,” for which they donned prayer shawls and fake beards and rapped about their pride in their synagogue and Judaism. Also taking an important role in “Temple’s Got Talent” was East County resident Bruce Silverberg, who served as judge for the event.

The event included acts by performers of all ages, as well as a catered Italian dinner.

The Temple Emanu-El Brotherhood sponsored the event. Proceeds benefited the group’s educational and community service programming.
