Early voting continues on Longboat

by: Kurt Schultheis Senior Editor

Early voting for all Longboat Key registered voters continues through the weekend at Town Hall for the March 15 municipal election.

Town Clerk Trish Granger said that 465 Key residents have taken advantage of early voting through Thursday.

Longboat Key registered voters will face two ballot questions on the ballot.

The town’s residents will be voting on a referendum question, seeking voter approval for a $16 million beach project, which includes the construction of erosion control structures on the north end of the island. The project cost also includes placing sand along the north end and other high erosion areas island-wide.

Also on the ballot is a town charter amendment question, which asks voters to clarify what is considered a partial term for commissioners.

Early voting is available through Sunday, March 13 at Town Hall, 501 Bay Isles Road.

Voting hours are 9 a.m. to 5 p.m. today, 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. Saturday and 1 p.m. to 5 p.m. Sunday.
