The Longboat Key Town Commission appointed Jack Duncan as mayor and Terry Gans as vice mayor at its March 16 statutory meeting.

Duncan has served in the District 2 seat for the past four years and was appointed vice mayor last year. He ran unopposed this year for a third and final term in his seat.

Gans joined the commission in 2012 and currently holds the District 3 seat.

Duncan was also sworn into his commission seat, along with newly elected District 4 Commissioner Jack Daly and Commissioner Phill Younger, who won a final term in his at-large seat in last week's election.

Mayor Jim Brown, who reached term limits for the District 4 seat after six years, signed off at tonight's meeting.
