Dogs rule at DQ fundraiser

One of the East County's newest animal rescue groups will hold a fundraiser from 5-8 p.m., tonight, at Dairy Queen Grill and Chill, 7155 S.R. 70 E.

Proceeds from the event, called “Dogs Night Out,” will benefit Safe Haven Animal Rescue of Florida. DQ is donating 20% of all proceeds to the organization. Safe Haven also will be collecting monetary donations as well as toys, food, grooming supplies and other items.

East County residents will even be able to bring their dogs to dine with them on the outside patio for the event.

Money generated from tonight’s fundraiser will specifically be used toward a surgery for a dog named Tysen, who has a broken femur.
