East County resident Cindy Quinn was horrified to see a dog hit by a car Jan. 18 and then left for dead.

Rob Arakel stopped to help and transported the dog to Braden River Animal Hospital. There, it was treated and then taken to Manatee County Animal Services. After several days of recovery, the dog, now named Noah, is available for adoption.

"This dog is the sweetest dog we have seen in a long time and if we did not have on of our own, we would have brought him home," Arakel said, adding he hopes to find it a home soon.

Manatee County Animal Services is located at 305 25th St. W., Bradenton., and can be contacted at 742-5933.
