Another local medical organization is making executive moves, as Doctors Hospital of Sarasota has appointed Dr. Thomas Trinchetto chief medical officer of the HCA-owned facility.

“As CMO, (Trinchetto) will be an instrumental part of strengthening the relationship between hospital administration and the medical staff, in addition to maintaining the high quality of medical care at Doctors Hospital of Sarasota,” said CEO Bob Meade in a news release. The 155-bed, acute-care facility is located northwest of the intersection of Bee Ridge Road and Cattlemen Road in East County.

Trinchetto has been with Doctors Hospital for 12 years, during which he has served as chief of staff and chief of medicine. He previously worked as medical director of emergency services and chief of medicine at Marathon-based Fisherman’s Hospital.

“Since joining the staff at Doctors Hospital in 2002, I have been consistently impressed by the emphasis the entire staff has placed on providing quality and compassionate care to our patients. First and foremost, the CMO role will allow me to help maintain and promote this priority,” Trinchetto said in the release. “I am both excited and appreciative of being given such an opportunity to serve our patients and staff.”

Doctors Hospital announced the hiring of Chief Operating Officer Steve Young earlier this summer. While Sarasota Memorial Hospital recently promoted CEO David Verinder from within its organization.
