Students in the early childhood program The Gan at Temple Sinai donned stethoscopes for an exercise in veterinary medicine. They listened carefully for the heartbeat on their stuffed animals and diagnosed their pretend patients accordingly — no doubt with prescriptions for hugs. The activity was to help teach the children about taking care of animals.
