Sarasota County deputies arrested two men after a crime spree they told detectives was undertaken to buy drugs, according to a new release.

Members of the Sarasota County Sheriff's Office Tactical Unit working on a tip began following 25-year-old Michael Rowe and 19-year-old Anthony Henry after the pair stole tools from Home Depot. The men continued their retail-theft spree at Walmart stores and a Walgreens before deputies arrested the pair at America's Super Pawn Wednesday, Oct. 2.

“It is important that the public understand we were investigating property crimes. We knew who the suspects were and our personnel contacted each store after the suspects left to gather evidence,” said Patrol Capt. Paul Richard in the release. “Following them allowed us to gauge the full scope of their activity and determine if they had any potential associates.”
