One of the star captains featured on Discovery Channel's "Deadliest Catch" is docking in Lakewood Ranch next month.

Captain Keith Colburn of the fishing vessel Wizard will be the featured guest at the Suncoast Super Boat Grand Prix Festival from 6-9 p.m., July 1, on Main Street in Lakewood Ranch. The street event is free. Race boats will be on display, and there will be live entertainment by Rye Road Band and activities for the entire family on Main Street.

There will also be a private party with limited tickets available. the price is $10 per person and includes a cash bar and hors d’ oeuvres (children 12 and under free) at Polo Grill’s Fete Ballroom. Guests will enjoy a question-and-answer period with Colburn. He will be available to sign autographs and take photos with guests. Ticket sales will benefit the Suncoast Foundation for the Handicapped Inc.

This year’s Suncoast Super Boat Grand Prix Festival celebrates 25 years, and Sarasota remains one of the longest continuously running race sites in the world.

"It is an honor for me to be a part of this year's festival,” Colburn said. “During a prior visit into the Sarasota area, I had an opportunity to meet the Suncoast Foundation board of directors and festival founders. With the festival celebrating its 25th anniversary ... this is a true testament to their tireless commitment and generous support.

“I also had an opportunity to tour several facilities which have been constructed as a result of funds raised by this annual event,” Colburn said. “Seeing firsthand the great work they do for so many challenged children, adults and their families was truly amazing. As a father of two, it is heartwarming for me to be involved and know the vast impact this festival has on so many."
