Crystal Classic organizers seek volunteers

A hulking sand sculpture will begin to taking shape on Siesta Key public beach this week ahead of the 2013 Crystal Classic, and event organizers have asked for volunteers to help create it.

Like the Crystal Classic on Facebook and send the page administrator a message to volunteer to help build a 60-foot-long fashion-show runway made of sand. Event planners are looking for fit folks to help haul and pack sand Thursday, Nov. 7, through Saturday, Nov. 9, from 10 a.m. to 5 p.m.

Volunteers will get to interact with five master sand scultpors.
