Crew hosts US Junior Men's National Sweep Team

The Sarasota Crew hosted the 2011 US Junior Men’s National Sweep Team for a high performance weekend of intense training and rowing Jan. 6-9 at its Bay Preserve training facility.

Rowers were training to compete in and earn a spot on the team that will travel to the Junior World Championships this summer in England. Twenty-three rowers from schools and clubs across the country, including Sarasota Crew’s own Hunter Leeming, a senior at Riverview High School, participated in the winter camp led by US Rowing Junior National Men’s Team head coach Kevin McDermott and assistant coach Boris Kusturic.
