County lifts boil-water advisory

A water main break over the weekend of Aug. 10 affected roughly 1,000 utilities customers between Wharf Road and Pelican Point Drive.

The roughly 1,000 Sarasota County residents affected by an Aug. 10 water-main break near Pelican Cove Condominiums are free to drink their tap water.

Tests show the water is safe to drink, according to a county news release.

The county had issued an advisory Mondy, Aug. 12,  after repairing the water main.
