County commissioners rename ball field Tuesday

The Sarasota County Commission made the following decisions at its Tuesday, Jan. 22 regular meeting:

• Commissioners renamed the Miracle League facility of Longwood Park, 6050 Longwood Run Blvd., Sarasota, as the “Orioles Pirates Miracle League Field of Manasota.”

• Commissioners held a public hearing on amending maintenance and cost provisions of the Siesta Key Village Public Improvements District (check the Thursday, Feb. 23 Pelican Press edition for more details).

• Commissioners received the annual report of the Environmental Sensitive Lands Oversight Committee and the annual report of the Parks Advisory and Recreation Council.
