Feb. 13
POWER NAP
1:35 a.m. — 500 block of Kumquat Drive.
Lodging Out of Doors. An officer issued a citation to a homeless man who was sleeping on the ground, wrapped in several blankets and using clothing as a pillow.

Feb. 14
TAKE FIVE
9:18 p.m. — 5200 block of Ocean Boulevard.
Noise Disturbance. An anonymous caller reported loud music coming from a bar. A deputy drove by the location with her window down and radio off, and the music seemed loud to her. When the officer approached the bar, the live band had finished playing for the night.

Feb. 15
VOTE OR DUI
11:46 p.m. — Intersection of Ocean Boulevard and Ocean Place.
Driving Under the Influence. A deputy stopped a woman for driving 15 miles per hour greater than the speed limit. The officer noticed the woman smelled of alcohol and noted that she presented her voter registration card instead of her vehicle registration. The deputy arrested her and impounded her vehicle for safekeeping.

Feb. 16
CATCH ME IF YOU CAN
6:57 p.m. — Intersection of Midnight Pass Road and Higel Avenue.
Leaving the Scene of an Accident. A man crashed his truck into another man’s vehicle at a stoplight. When the crash victim exited his vehicle, the man drove away. The victim gave deputies the fleeing vehicle’s tag number, and the man admitted the act after the officer called him.

Feb. 17
LOSING BATTLE
1:35 a.m. — 900 block of Beach Road.
Resisting Officer Without Violence. An officer stopped a man driving 20 miles per hour greater than the speed limit. The man performed poorly during a field sobriety test. The man kicked a deputy attempting to handcuff him and fled. Officers arrested the man after a short footrace.

Feb. 18
BEST SERVED COLD
10 p.m. — 2400 block Browning Street.
Dispute. A man called police about an ongoing dispute with his roommate. Police believe the dispute is caused by a “romantic situation gone awry,” because the roommate happens to be the man’s ex-girlfriend. The man told police he woke up to his roommate throwing a pot of cold coffee on him. The roommate then ripped up his calendar and check register. According to the man, she also took all of his toiletries and put them in the bathroom sink. An officer advised the man to begin the eviction process against his roommate.

NET LOSS
12 p.m. — 900 block of Beach Road. Grand Theft. A woman left her bag near a volleyball net for two hours. When she returned, the bag containing two cellphones and $300 cash was missing. Witnesses did not see anyone suspicious in the area.
