COLLATERAL DAMAGE
10:39 a.m. — 1400 block of Main Street
Property damage: When a man arrived at work, he noticed one of the front windows in the building was cracked. He showed an officer surveillance video from overnight, which showed several people involved in a fight. During the incident, one of the fighters fell into the window, causing the damage. There appeared to be no intent to break the window. The officer gave the man a case number regarding the incident.

SEEING SIGNS
11 a.m. — 1200 block of North Tamiami Trail
Property damage: A man went to a store at a shopping plaza, and when he came outside, he discovered a sign had fallen onto his car, damaging his vehicle. The man believed another car hit the sign, causing it to fall and scratch his car. An officer responded to the scene, and told the man he saw the sign was already on the ground several weeks earlier. The man appeared confused when he was told the sign had been down for weeks. The officer speculated that someone may have picked the sign off the ground thinking they could put it back, but then dropped it onto the man’s vehicle because it was too heavy. The officer instructed the man to get in contact with the property manager regarding the damage.
