I STOLE THE TV
7 a.m. — 1400 block of 18th Street
Burglary: A woman reported the theft of a large tube TV from her home. She said the TV was quite a few years old, and had a built-in VCR player. She estimated the television was worth $40. Although glass panes in the front door had been shattered, the woman added that the back door was left open, and she thought it was closed before. An officer inspected the door, and discovered it was off the hinges and appeared as if it had been for some time due to the presence of spider webs.

PAY-OFF
11:35 a.m. — 1500 block of North Washington Boulevard
Dispute: The manager of a car wash said a former employee was refusing to leave the property. When officers arrived on scene, the manager said he did owe the man money, but that payday wasn’t until later in the week. The man agreed to leave the property, and said he would return on payday to retrieve his paycheck.

HIT & RETURN & RUN
4 p.m. — 800 block of Hudson Avenue
Property Damage: A woman loaned her car to a friend so he could run an errand. He returned the car about four hours later, and the woman discovered fresh damage to the front end of the vehicle that the friend did not mention. There was damage to the bumper and fender, there was paint on her white car and the headlight covers were broken. Without speaking with the man, who could not be reached by phone, the police were unable to start a crash report. An officer issued a be-on-the-lookout notice for hit-and-runs involving the woman’s car.

RABBIT RUN
6 p.m. — 2000 block of Eighth Street
Suspicion: A man left his belongings at another home for the weekend, and when he returned to collect them, they were gone. The person living in the house said “Rabbit” had come by to pick them up earlier that day. The man said he only knew the person by the nickname “Rabbit,” and did not wish to file a theft report.

BAD HUMOR
6:15 p.m. — 3800 block of Greenway Drive
Suspicion: A woman reported that a man, whom she had never seen before, pulled up next to her building and began yelling at her. The man told the woman, “I know you have drugs in the car!” and accused her of kidnapping her daughter. When the woman told the man she was calling the police, he told her he was just kidding and drove away. An officer told the woman to call for assistance if the man returned to the area.
