Sept. 20
WIRED DOWN
9 a.m. — 8000 block of Sanderling Road.
Grand Theft. A construction company employee reported that $450 worth of materials was taken from a work site. Deputies currently have no witnesses or suspects in the theft of 1,500 feet of PVC piping and a half spool of electrical wiring.

Sept. 23
CLOTHING MAKES THE MAN
3:45 a.m. — 100 block of Avenida Veneccia.
Prowler. A woman reported that a nude man was trying to open doors and windows to her home, while repeatedly asking for his clothes. After 15 minutes the man left, and deputies arrived with a K9 unit. Officers didn’t find the man, but discovered that a neighbor’s porch screen was damaged and found clothes and a wallet in the backyard.

UNSECRET STASH
6:15 a.m. — 80 block of Avenida Veneccia. Residential Burglary. A man called deputies to report that someone stole $800 cash from an antique jar in his room. He said few people knew he kept his cash in the jar, which was smashed during the incident, but had recently asked a roommate to move out because he had a “pill problem.”

Sept. 22
SHOOT, THAT HURT
12:02 a.m. — 5200 block of Ocean Boulevard.
Battery. Deputies discovered a homeless man bleeding from a head wound. The man said he was struck with a bamboo chute, but could not remember what his attacker looked like. Witnesses said a man with curly blond hair was seen leaving the scene.

CHANGE THE GOLDI-LOCKS
1:13 p.m. — 800 block of Siesta Key Circle. Residential Burglary. Deputies suspect that more than one person broke into a house that is currently on the market; the stole a television and a laptop. Deputies found a plate, a cup, and silverware in the sink, which a Realtor said were not there before the burglary.

Sept. 24
GOODBYE, KITTY
12:15 a.m. — 5100 block of Ocean Boulevard.
Petit Theft. A woman reported that she put her black Hello Kitty wallet down while using the facilities and forgot it when she left. She reported it stolen after bar staff said it was never turned in to their lost and found.

GUCCI, GUCCI GONE
10:30 a.m. — 900 block of Beach Road. Petit Theft. A woman told police that someone stole her wallet while she was swimming at the beach or walking along the shoreline. The designer wallet contained her driver’s license and $3 cash.

Sept. 25
PRYING HANDS
12:30 p.m. — 8400 block of Midnight Pass Road.
Stolen Tag. A man reported that someone pried the license plate off of his 2008 Bentley Coupe. He did not know where or when the theft occurred, and deputies have no leads in the case.
