JUNE 12

VACATION GONE WRONG
8:23 a.m. — 1100 block of GMD
Fraud: A woman told police she transferred $597.39 to a man's bank account for a vacation rental on Longboat Key. When she tried to transfer more money because she wanted to stay another night, she was told the bank account was closed. By the time she notified police, the Craigslist ad was removed from the website.

JUNE 17

IT’S QUTTIN’ TIME
6:47 p.m. — 3400 block of GMD
Code Enforcement: Police told a man installing a paver driveway that he can’t work past 5 p.m. without violating the town’s noise ordinance.

JUNE 19

BILLS PILING UP
10:47 a.m. — 6900 block of Poinsetta Avenue
Fraud: A woman told police she came back from vacation to discover power bills for a property she doesn’t own and a cellphone bill for a phone number she doesn’t have. Police told her to close the accounts and gave her identity theft brochures.

SOUND THE ALARM
12:44 p.m. — 6800 block of GMD
Alarm: Police found the back sliding door of a home unlocked after an alarm sounded. The house was undisturbed, and the owner was notified of the unlocked door. She told police a man who has a key to the house and checks on it would be notified.

GO FISH
4:19 p.m. — 800 block of Evergreen Way
Trespassing: Police responded to a trespassing complaint and found a man fishing near a condominium complex. He showed police his driver’s license and said the owner of a unit he was renting told him could use the area for fishing. No further action was taken.

THREAT DOCUMENTATION
4:59 p.m. — 6900 block of Poinsetta Avenue
Disturbance: A man told police that a neighbor he has had several documented issues with in the past used his hand to imitate firing a gun at him as he drove by his neighbor’s house. He wanted the incident documented as part of the ongoing list of incidents. He was advised to call police if he was concerned for his safety.

JUST VISITING
10:56 p.m. — 600 block of Dream Island Road
Public Service: A woman told police her neighbor wasn’t home despite the fact that several cars were in her driveway. A maintenance worker who has access to the house told police he has permission to use the home with his wife when the owner is out of town. No further action was taken.

JUNE 20

LEAKY BACKFLOW
6:59 p.m. — 500 block of Gunwale Lane
Property Damage: A man told police his neighbor’s backflow prevention device began to malfunction and was leaking water. The property owner and the neighbor made plans to call a plumber.

NO DOGS ALLOWED
7:46 p.m. — 2800 block of GMD
Code Enforcement: Police found a man walking two dogs on the beach and issues him written warning for violating a town ordinance.

JUNE 21

ON THE HOOK
12:17 a.m. — 800 block of Broadway
Suspicious Person: Police discovered two men fishing off a restaurant dock that was clearly marked with no fishing signs. Police escorted them off the property even though they claimed to have permission to fish there from the owner’s son.

SHOWER IS OFF LIMITS
4:25 p.m. — 500 block of Rountree Lane
Disturbance: A man told police he got into an argument with a young couple who was using a private community shower to wash off their feet. The couple fled by car before police arrived.
